Forgot to put together a little poster of last semester's urban design solution. Better late than never.
The main course this semester was urban design. A two-man effort to solve the problems of Budapest's Káposztásmegyer area. A residential complex from the eighties, a more refined example of socialist-era panel housing ([link]).
My colleague and I decided to try and integrate the northern and southern parts of the town to each other more and create a healthier connection with the neighbouring forest and other city parts.
The result is a new residential area, a sort of town centre that's currently missing from the place plus a park system connected with walk- and pathways more or less separate from the existing road system.
The department liked it very much.
